Site Spotlight: Hawaii, USA
We have an incredible invitation to join with the Hawaii District youth to work in and around the beaches, towns, and communities during their youth convention in March. Each day after breakfast, we'll have an awesome time of praise and worship during their week-long, 800-person youth convention. In the afternoons, you will use drama, street evangelism, service projects, prayer walks, and mini Alpha-type groups to build relationships with the Christian youth of Hawaii, sharing the love of Jesus. Each night we will reach out with relevant and fun, youth-focused activities. We will use music, games, and testimonies while working in the local churches.
Hawaii is saying, "Aloha!" Come and make new friends while sharing your love for Jesus and the lost. Don't forget to bring some sun tan lotion because there is sure to be lots of it! Site Spotelight: Ensenada, Mexico - Spring
Ensenada is located on the Baja strip and is the fifth-largest city in Mexico, with a population of 200,000. Despite the tourist money that comes into the city, the general population is not wealthy. In fact, the people living outside the city are not poverty stricken, but are certainly not well off. Ensenada is a perfect first-time trip, because of its location. The location provides the foreign short-term missionary experience with many comforts found in a tourist city. The teams stay in the city at a resort, but most do their ministry with churches outside of the city. Everyday all of the teams will have breakfast and morning devotions/worship and then go out to do ministry.
Throughout the trip, teams will being working with their host church to conduct VBS and participate in the evening revival services. Teams may also have the opportunity to perform skits/dramas, conduct sports tournaments and do street evangelism. Ensenada is an awesome trip for developing unity among your youth group and preparation for a future overseas trip.
