There are only a few opportunities to come along that have the potential to literally change your perspective on life. This is one of them! Short-term mission trips are one of the most important ministries in which we participate each year. Working alongside an Assembly of God missionary to see the people in another country respond to the gospel is amazing. It means getting out of our culture and crossing a language barrier.
This summer Joanne and I will be crossing the Spanish language barrier and leading a trip to The Dominican Republic. The "DR" (as it is frequently called) is located in the Caribbean and has a population of over 8 million. Baseball is the area's primary passion, with basketball coming in second.
Youth ministry is essentially nonexistant. That's why Jamie and Berly have gone there, and Joanne and I are going to be partnering with Sun City Missions to help their dream take one more step toward fulfillment! Please contact Sun City to join us on this trip.

Santo Domingo, here we come!
Imagine a thriving, tropical capital city of 3 million people where 50% are under the age of 23! Imagine partnering with local churches that only within the last one to three years have launched teenage youth ministry! Imagine helping these local youth and church leaders reach out with service projects to their inner-city communities. Imagine hosting basketball clinics and tournaments to create a relational bridge to the young people in order to share Christ's message of hope. Imagine ministering in youth services and small groups, reaching lost youth and helping the church establish a strategy for discipling the new believers.
And yet, perhaps the greatest aspect of all: Imagine training seminars for the new Dominican youth leaders. You, making an eternal investment in those who are committed to invest in an entire generation of Dominican teenagers! I cannot imagine an opportunity of greater impact than this Sun City mission trip this summer. Transform imagination into reality!
